Marc's 1971 Galaxie LTD Convertible

Marc purchased his Galaxie from Seattle, Washington, in 1985 for $700US.
Due to crooks in the business, and shipping problems where the car sat idle in HongKong for 3 months during 1987, it finally made it ashore to Fremantle some 2 years after handing the cash over to the importer, who was a real Nutt!

Over the next 2 years, he gathered the necessary parts to do the build, including the purchase of an Aussie RHD Galaxie 4 door LTD.
This was needed to provide the chassis, dash, firewall, and all the steering components needed for the right hand drive conversion.
The build began in 1989, when Marc had stripped the convertible and the donor LTD, and then sent them off to the panel shop for the RHD conversion and a paint job in Stark White. It was around this time, when I was trying to start the Ford Galaxie Club of WA, that he contacted me for advice, but I never met him until about 5 years later.
The Convertible was finished and licensed in 1993, complete with 429 engine, and the only variations from original being the wheels and twin exhaust system with headers.

I met up with Marc on Christmas Day in 1994, and I have been his "adviser" ever since.
The most recent, being persuading him to fit a 4 barrel Holley and intake manifold, to replace the original factory 2 barrel.
The original set up only ever had 1/2 throttle, and now with the Holley aboard, Marc says "the thing's too fast, and I haven't got the guts to floor the pedal!"

With quite a few friends of mine now owning Galaxies, it has been decided that we will now try to reform the Ford Galaxie Club of Western Australia again, after it's failure in the early 1990s. Please contact me with any enquiries.

Transmission:	C6 Auto
Rear Axle:	9 inch, 3.25 ratio
Wheels and Tyres:	Rear: 15 x 7 Front: 15 x 7 Swanky wheels and whitewall tyres.
