Jason's HJ Holden One Tonner
This is my nephew Jason's HJ Holden One Tonner which he bought as a rebuild project.

It started when he was doing his apprenticeship at a local Holden dealer when he was getting a little sick of doing oil changes and brakes all day, and wanted to learn a little about building engines. It was decided that he needed a V8 at home to play around with, and his father Perry came to the rescue with a Holden 253 in need of resuscitation.
While the planning for the engine was taking place, Jason realised that it needed a car to be slotted into, and the hunt for a One Ton Holden was on. The right one was found, and the rebuild had begun.

The money was spent as soon as it came in, and the results can easily be seen.
The body was stripped, repaired, and painted in Blood Orange.......maybe an influence from his uncle. Yeah me! :)
The interior was stripped and redone, the chassis was cleaned up and painted, a Ford 9 inch was fitted in the rear, new wheels purchased, a timber tray added to the back, and the engine and trans were fitted. The original 4 speed manual has now been replace by an automatic.

So here it is today, almost finished to how Jason wants it.
It has a beautiful rumble, much better than you'd expect from a 253. We headed off to the grounds of the Fremantle Cemetary, the home of Bon Scott's grave. What better place to photograph a Blood Orange car, but in a cemetary?

The power bug has bitten Jason, and an alloy headed 400 Dart has now been purchased. With an estimated 600hp on the cards, it will be more than enough to satisfy his needs.

Watch out all Ford owners!
